OUR reputation is on the line.
Shared accountability starts here.
Hi Friends,
The FTC’s new ban on deceptive influencer, creator, and celebrity testimonials—with $43,792 fines per violation—went into effect in October 2024. It’s reshaping UGC and influencer marketing (which drives nearly all advertising today) as we know it.
Here’s what one of our most vocal agency pilot partners shared:
“Compliance specifically in the UGC and influencer world can’t just be technical—it has to be cultural. THAT is what keeps me up at night about this change. Creator and influencer marketing is, by default, a “team sport” whereas more standard ad formats is a “solo sport.” Using your AI tools to detect issues and fix UGC can’t replace the need for creators to internalize and apply the rules. [Also]…if the FTC comes knocking, we’ll need more than AI content scan logs. We’ll need proof of human responsibility. Our agency is successful because I, personally, still spend a lot of time teaching our creators before putting them on a brand project.”
This insight cuts to the heart of the issue: compliance isn’t just a company problem—it’s a creator problem, too.
Creators post the content.
Creators own the message and audience.
Creators hold the key to compliance.
BUT: most creators don’t understand FTC regulations—or worse, actively ignore them. And when violations happen, your brand or agency takes the hit.
Introducing the SwayID Creator Compliance Portal
Shared accountability starts here.
Our Creator Compliance Portal bridges the gap by making compliance a shared responsibility. It’s not just for brands or agencies. It’s a system for everyone involved.
At the heart of the Creator Compliance Portal is its flagship feature (thanks to your feedback): FTC AWARE Creator Training
How it works:
Creators Sign Up and Authenticate Their Identity
No more fake profiles—transparency and accountability start here.
Creators Learn the Rules
Bite-sized modules like FTC Compliance 101, paired with pop quizzes, teach creators to disclose properly, avoid fake reviews, and follow FTC rules.
Creators Take Ownership
With AI-powered content checker tools and compliance agreements, creators own their role in keeping content compliant and trustworthy.
Creators Earn Badges
Certified creators earn a badge, proving they’re compliance-ready and trustworthy to brands and agencies.
Why This Matters “Yesterday”
Without shared accountability:
Brands and agencies shoulder all the burden.
Non-compliant creators damage your reputation (and theirs).
Compliance becomes a bottleneck instead of a safeguard.
With the Creator Compliance Portal:
Creators proactively prioritize compliance from the beginning…
therefore brands launch campaigns rooted in trust and alignment,
and so everyone can sleep better at night.
